Happy New Year-It's 2010

We are currently decluttering the house. Wow it is so liberating to let stuff go. Emotional stuff as well as the physical. It's time consuming and at this point, seems to be never ending. Today we started with the refrigerator. Tim and I took everything out and washed all the shelves and glass. It looks great!! We also tackled one of the closets. I will complete that job in the morning.

Lamest blogger ever

Wow! I can't believe that I haven't posted since October. Well my new goal is four times a month and increase from there. However my life is not that exciting. I do have lots of opinions though. Sometimes people get hear them even when they do not ask for them :)
Right now I am fighting a horrible cold so I am doing a green juice-a-thon. I am trying to drink as much as I can for the next couple of days. Last nights juice was spinach, celery and apple. I liked it even though I celery is not my favorite veggie.
Today I am making broccoli raab leaves, pineapple and cukes. Never made it before but looking forward to it.

Raw Food Rehab part 2

My husband and I have joined RFR for an 11 week challenge. We will be trying to be high raw 80% and doing a 10,000 walking step challenge. I was part of the original Raw Food Rehab conducted by Penni Shelton. Yesterday Tim and posted our measurements and weight on the site. We will be weighing in weekly for 11 weeks. It is great for accountability and encouragement. We still have to post our before pictures (we are having camera issues right now). My goals for the next 11 weeks....
Get 8 hours of sleep
Drink at least 64 oz of water daily
Movement everyday-walking and other
Eat only whole foods
Stay 100% raw for an entire week
Journal journal journal
Try one new recipe a week

Away we go

Our TV challenge is over and ....

I have to say that I am glad. I did very well at the beginning of the month but towards the end, I failed miserably. I am a bit of a news junkie (which I wanted to do this in the first place-I had had it with the so called network and cable news). I will say my son was awesome! It never watched it and when I did turn it on for a minute, he would come through the room and say BUSTED. I will do this again. We did have a lot more time to do the other activities we love reading, listening to music and playing games. I did not get to scrapbook at all but I look to do more of that in the winter.

October already

I love this time of year. The break of summer and the crispness of the autumn air. At our house it is also bringing big changes. My husband and I will start a challenge of raw food for 11 weeks and son is still doing gluten free pancakes. We will be trying some new recipes for GF bread this weekend. I have not found one he likes yet. My hope is that my son will join in on many of the raw food meals with us, but I am happy with the GF for now for him.

A change is coming...

This dish is now a staple in my house. My son is not on board with it yet but husband will happily eat it. I vary it a bit each time. But I always use red peppers, english cukes, a little red onion, vinegar, olive oil, agave, mustard, oregano, salt and pepper. Sometimes use avocados, walnuts, basil, mint, zucchinis.
